HYT T1 collection
Complex, refined and brimming with contemporary elegance, the HYT T1 collection heralds a new era for this exciting independent watchmaking company. Featuring the company’s patented fluidic technology that was awarded the Innovation Prize at the prestigious GPHG in 2012, this new timepiece is presented in a beautifully executed 45mm octagonal case with options of Titanium and black DLC Titanium or black DLC Titanium and 18ct gold. Powered by the groundbreaking Calibre 501-CM hand-wound movement, this all new collection debuts an enclosed dial to the HYT portfolio, offered in a choice of salmon, silver, anthracite grey or petrol blue.
Astounding in both arrangement and technical supremacy, the HYT Series 1 watch affirms this independent watchmaking company’s commitment to avant-garde watchmaking. Released in celebration of twelve years of innovation, the company look to the future with a brand new collection that showcases their incredible retrograde fluidic hour display within an enclosed dial setting for the first time. The models in the T1 Series collection also feature a new ergonomic case, and despite the significant challenges involved in order to accommodate the fluidic technology within the smaller case size of 45mm, HYT have once again proven that they are at the cutting-edge of micro-technology and this new addition is quite simply a triumph for the company.
Wonderfully stylish, the case of the watch has an octagonal profile that displays an abundance of curves and flowing lines. Measuring just over 45mm and with a height of only 17.2mm it is bereft of lugs, instead, the housing seamlessly embraces an integrated rubber strap enhancing the ergonomics of the watch and lending it perfect for daily wear. Manufactured from a combination of titanium and black DLC titanium, or 18ct gold and black DLC titanium, the casing benefits from an asymmetrically positioned crown, at the 2 o’clock.
Beneath a sapphire crystal that exhibits a pronounced bell dome, the tiny glass capillary that holds the fluids for the retrograde hours is displayed against a solid dial surface for the first time, giving it added visual impact. As it completes its 12 hour cycle form the 6 to the 6, the hour can be read at the point between the transparent and the blue or black non-miscible liquids. From the centre the minutes hand reaches to its own double digit scale, while a minimalist power reserve is positioned at the 2 o’clock. Available in four options, the brass dial is rendered with a beautiful satin finish giving additional depth to the surface, and a discreet brand logo and a pair of visible screws complete the dial arrangement.
On the underside, a sapphire caseback reveals the proprietary manual wound Calibre 501-CM movement where one can see the workings of the bellows which enable the immiscible liquids to be pushed through the fine glass capillary tube on the dial side. An outstanding example of contemporary Haute Horlogerie, the movement displays fine sandblasted and satin finishes while black coated components give it a modernistic character. Complex in the extreme, it comprises of 352 components, and fully wound it has a power reserve of 72 hours.
A stunning timepiece that is characterised by outstanding contemporary design flair and technical mastery, and one that marks a notable departure for this inventive company, the HYT T1 watch comes presented on a rubber strap with a quick-release system.
